Three access levels
Absolute Video Channel supports three access levels - administrators , publishers and general users. The administrator has complete access over the app, while the publisher has restricted video submission features to his / her assigned categories only and the general user can only access to the front end and submit public videos if allowed.

* FFMPEG is a command-line tool for encoding videos. It is an optional component included with the application. To set up FFMPEG, an exe file should be installed on the Windows Folder of the web server. This is NOT required to use the application, it is an optional feature that will allow you to re-encode videos and automatically generate thumbnails from your videos directly from the application.

System Requirements
This is a web based application. That means that it is not the regular program that you install on Windows. But it's not difficult to install at all.
As a web based application, it requires a web server and a browser to operate. It is a program which you host or upload into your web server and you operate it using your favorite web browser like Internet Explorer or FireFox.

It has been developed to run on web sites hosted on Windows based Servers with support for the Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework or higher. |
| Database | Make sure that your web host has a SQL Server database for you. The Absolute Video Channel stores its information in a database. This program has been developed to run exclusively with SQL Server 2000 / 2005 or higher databases. If you don't have SQL Server, you can use MSDE 2000 which is a scaled down version of SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server Express both free from Microsoft's web site. |

1. Can it be used on a shared hosting environment?
Sure!, as a matter of fact, 90% of our customers effectively run our apps on shared hosting environments. Just make sure to meet the requirements outlined above.
2. Can I use my already existing database or does the software need a new one?
The system has been developed in such a way that it can be installed on a shared database and co-exist with your other database elements without any issues at all.
3. How easy is it to install?
The installation process is very easy and is explained in full detail in the accompanying user manual. Basically all you need to do is to unzip and upload some files to the web server (BY FTP) and update the database connection string by modifying a single line of code in a text file. All the application can be fully deployed by FTP
4. My Web Host is Linux and I have a MySQL database, will that work?
Unfortunately no. This application has been developed to run exclusively on a Windows Based Server using SQL Server as the database. No other platforms are supported.
